My first sailboat was a Catalina 25 named Bottom Time. I bought her in April of 1992 at Herrington Harbor Marina in Deale, MD. I picked her because she was a good boat with a galley and ability to sleep overnight. Also she's a good "starter boat". She has a swing keel and a short mast.
One of my first trips was to motor down to clifts near where Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant is located. I took scuba gear and met up with some dive buddies to look for shark teeth and other fossils in about 6' of water.
Thereafter, I sailed on many trips to St. Michaels, Poplar Island, Oxford, Snug Harbor, Tilghman Island, Rhode River, and Shaw Bay. The biggest trip in this
boat was to Smith Island.
